What Insite are doing already to drive sustainability?
As national providers of workplace technology solutions, we’re on a mission to not only make the lives of our customers easier, but to do so in a sustainable manner and lessen our impact on the environment. We must use energy efficiently and from renewable sources wherever possible. We’re also committed to managing our waste responsibly and recycling MFDs and other devices whenever we can. We follow specific environmental criteria in order to achieve this.
We’re continuously focusing on recycling parts and a range of office printers and copiers on a local and national level. We are driving to help create sustainable solutions for our customers, we have achieved this through investment in our Service Centre – complete with a facility to refurbish a range of Xerox print hardware from A4 office MFD’s to high volume production printers. Resulting in extended life of equipment along with a much lower sale price.
We follow a robust framework for our environmental management system. By moving to a single waste management provider nationally, we will be able to more precisely measure and further reduce our collective waste.
Electric and Hybrid service vehicles
We have embraced electric and hybrid vehicles to reduce our carbon footprint. 10% of our company car fleet is electric, while 50% consists of hybrid vehicles, promoting cleaner transportation options for employees. Our commitment is one hundred percent to be EV or hybrid by 2024.
While our commitment for hybrid vehicles stands, we’re also expanding our portfolio to include electric vehicle options. Our goal is for at least 20% of our company car vehicle fleet to be electric by 2024. Alongside this, we will introduce electric car charging points at our UK sites, with this goal under continuous review and development.
Reforestation and Carbon Offset Services
The PrintReleaf program makes it easy to offset greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from printing while contributing to global reforestation efforts. Through a direct connection, your page volume data can be automatically fed to PrintReleaf software. PrintReleaf reverse-calculates how many trees were required and how much carbon was emitted for the paper consumed.
Biomass offset: Trees are automatically replanted at certified global reforestation projects of your choice.
Carbon offsets: Certified Carbon credits are purchased to offset carbon emissions associated with manufacturing the paper.
